Emirates Inteview Questions

I applied to work as cabin crew for Emirates a week or so ago and have been doing lots of research about the recruitment process.
The next step for me hopefully is to receive an invitation to an assessment day in the UK next year, either Jan or Feb, that's if I pass the initial screening ( they screen all 15,000 applications they receive per month!! ), they can be picky as they receive so many applications for all over the world.
The assessment day is normally conducted in a posh hotel close to your home town, mine will be probably London. The day starts around 9am, the days consists of group exercises, maths and English tests. Apparently, if you are successful at this stage you are invited back for an interview the next day. The questions are something like following :
1. Tell us about yourself
2. Why do you want to join us?
3. What would you like to do in five years' time?
4. Do you prefer working with others or alone?
5. What are your biggest accomplishments?
6. What are your favorite subjects?
7. Why should we hire you?
8. What are your hobbies?
9. What is the worst feedback you have ever got?
10. What is the most difficult situation you have faced?
11. How do you measure talent?
12. How do/would you optimize performance and lift standards in a team?
13. Have you ever dealt with a customer making an unrealistic demand?
14. How would you respond if you were offered the job?
15. Tell me about something recently that really annoyed you.
16. What will you bring to the job/company if we employ you?
17. Tell me about the culture at your last company/employer.
18. Tell me about your life at College or University (or even your time in your previous job).
19. What do you want to be doing in 2/5/10 years time? Or: Where do you want to be in 2/5/10 years time?
20. What is your ideal job?
21. What did you achieve in your last job?
22. What are your strengths?
23. What are your weaknesses?

I hope this will help anyone applying for Emirates too!

Fingers crossed, an invitation will be in my inbox soon!

I've applied!!

I started my application online on http://www.emiratesgroupcareers.com/ on September 22nd 2009, after alot of research and debating with myself whether this is a career I want to pursue now or in a few years ( I can never make up my mind as to where or what to do with my life as you'll notice! ), the writing began.........it took me approx 2 months to finish my application! Not that I'm at lazy, it's just I wanted everything to sound professional and word perfect and of course didn't want to come across as desperate for the job ( although I am :). The pics were quite hard to get right too, they asked for a head an shoulders shot and a full length one, not easy getting a full face full of make up to stay on whilst trying to take decent pictures in 42 degrees heat!! ( Travelling round Australia by the way ).

The questions were quite tricky and do demand a fair bit of research on Emirates, the first question was 'why work for us?', well in my head my answer was.....live in year round sunshine in Dubai, live a glamorous life with no rent and feel like a celebrity whilst weearing the famous uniform and of course travel to lots of amazing destiantions for free!! Of course, I didn't write that, I talked about how I'd travelled with emirates on several occasions and admired the servie they offered, also talked about how Emirates is an award winning airline with over 400 Inernational awards, spoke about my ability to speak fluent French and German and most of all, wrote about my natural ability to deliver exceptional service even after being on my feet for 15 hours! The other questions were quite straight forward, experience, education, references...

Anyway, I've sent off my application ( both paper and online ) about 1 week ago, on http://www.cabincrew.com/, many of Emirates previous applicants have said it can take up to 3 months to hear back. I did receive a letter back from them saying that they had received my application and the status had changed on their careers website from 'submitted' to 'application under review' so it's all a waiting game now.......
