Very eventful trip to Sydney!!

I'm still at the hotel waiting for our 3.05am wake up call, we're getting picked up at 4am so still got abit of time to rest. The flight over here went pretty qick, we had our pre flight briefing as usual, it was great seeing Katie there who me ad Adam had met a few before at a brunch, she's lovely to be around. After the first service we got to go to the crew rest compartment for 4 hours sleep, it's quite nice there's beds and tv's, went straight to sleep :) Woke up, brushed my teeth, reapplyed my make up and did my hair again, looked quite fresh, surprised myself!! We then answered call bells and chatted to passengers that came to the galley. The other half of the crew had rest and we then did the last service. I'm getting quicker at doing the bar now :)
We arrived in Sydney around 22.30, Katie asked me if fancied going out with her and her friends that she knows from here so I quickly got changed into jeans and pumps, very casual, if I would have known where we were going I would have brought a dress for the occasion!! Her friends picked us up and we went to a birthday party in a private venue where the security guard looked us 4 up and down like we were dirt or something, anyway got a vodka red bull, then we drove to the Ivy Lounge which is the most pretentious place I have ever been to in all my life!!! Members pay over $110000 per year to be able to get in, apparently one of Katie's friends knew someone having another birthday in the penthouse, it's impossible to get in if you don't know someone or if you're not wearing Chanel! The security wasn't keen to let us in, Steward called his friend inside and he let the 2 guys in and his girlfriend didn't want me and Katie to get in!! haha Snobby tart lol We got in eventually, I felt slightly out of place wearing jeans and pumps but it was ok. We sat at the bar for over half an hour and the barman was blatanly ignoring us, he then sat on the coach with no drink and about an hour later the barman came and said that he wanted to apologise for ignoring us as he though we were randoms that had managed to get through security so he had been told not to serve us!!! Prentious Assshole.
After that we went to one ofthe girls mum and dads houses in the most exopensive area of Sydney, they own a $17 million dollar mansion, it was like something from Gossip Girl haha We sat outside and chatted, the views were amazing, we could see the Harbour Bridge from their kitchen balcony! Wish Adam could have been there to see it. Chatted to the rich girls who were all snorting cocaine, classy...not!
They seeemd so unhappy it was so sad to hear, they told me about how their mum and dads were divorced because of affairs, one girl got pregnant after 1 month of dating someone and she was treating him likke shit the whole night and if me and Katie chatted to him, she would stare over at us as if she was worried something might happen. We stayed there and had some wine until the sun came up around 6.30am, headed back to the hotel and Katie stayed out. Woke up at 4pm and watched Sex and the City on tv :) Me ad Katie went for a lovely walk around the Harbour bridge, it reminded me of when I was here 4 years ago, things have changed so much, feel happy to have found someone to love and to love me back and I really wish I could show Adam all these amazing places too.
We went to McDonalds and I had Fish burger the apple pie and ice cream yum..
Feeling very sad right now, gets very lonely on layovers, wish I could see one of my friends or family here. The flight back will be long, 15 hours, not looking forward to it but I am looking forward to sleeing in my own bed.
It's 2.09am here and I feel ok, had quite a bit of sleep before so will start to get ready soon. Called Adam earlier for 6 minutes and it cost me $78!! Which is about 30 quid, thieves!!! Won't do that again lol Can see myself being cabin crew for my 3 year contract then I have decided to be a nurse, lov caring for people, think i would be good at looking after poorly people. Will start looking into degrees in Dubai. I'm back in Sydney in a few weeks so I'm going to see the Blue Mountains, Adam went there when he was here and said it was beautiful.
Have to start getting ready now, wonder if anything interesting will happen on the flight back?

My first layover in Frankfurt...

It's been a few days since I got back and a lot has happened since but I can remember how nice it was nice to stand in the cold and the trees!! Those who live in Dubai will understand and the rest of you will probably think I've gone crazy.
The day always starts by checking in our bags at the airport, we go to the briefing room, meet the crew, we have to answer a safe talk question ( if you get it wrong they ask you another one, if get that one wrong, you are offloaded and not allowed to fly!! ), the questions can be about anything...for example first aid or safety. On my first ever flight to Pakistan, I got my question completely wrong!! They asked me what medication I would administer for someone suffering from hyperglycaemia ( which is a condition diabetic people suffer from ), I answered Epipen which is an injection used to cure a severe allergic reaction!! haha what a retard!!They let me off and asked me another one which I got right, I was so nervous.
The flight wasn't very busy, it was great to be able to speak German again, I managed to ask the passengers what they would like to drink and eat :) I probably would have struggled in there was an emergency though!
The crew were lovely, I met a really nice girl called Krysta from Canada, she helped me during the flight when I didn't know where something was or how to do something. She loves photography too so hopefully we will fly together again and have a photography day. The service of drinks and food is different to how we learn it in training college, they teach us to build rapport with passengers and take time to chat, it is so difficult to do that on flights. The crew always tell me to hurry up with the service but it annoys me because I believe a few words exchanged with a passenger will probably make them choose Emirates again rather than just treating them like a number. So, when possible, I always to take time to have a little chat with a few passengers, normally the older ones as they are always so happy to be spoken too :)
We arrived in Frankfurt in the evening and I was amazed at the hotel, it was gorgeous! My room was so cosy, comfortable with a massive TV :) I slept for a few hours then showered and met Kristina ( Swedish ) and Peter ( Australian ) for dinner, I had a nice pint of German beer and a pizza. They had Schnitzel. I have decided to be vegetarian by the way, I have never been a keen meat eater and I just feel so sorry for the animals over here, they are treated so badly and it makes me feel bad eating them. I feel so much healthier in myself since no more animal fat is clogging my arteries, I respect anyone who chooses to eat meat though, don't get me wrong. Adam ( my boyfriend ) loves a massive burger :)
I still eat fish though.
The next day, I got up early and met some of the crew for breakfast, it was all you can eat buffet :) had a cooked breakfast, pancakes, fruit, tea and juice ( greedy I know! ). Then I went for a long walk to the shops through a lovely park, bought some chocolate and wine. It was so lovely to be out in the fresh air, in Dubai, because of all the construction, it's very dusty and everywhere is air conditioned, so being in Europe was lovely.
The plane was full on the way back, I had a nice man in my cabin, he was a skywards member ( frequent flyer ) so I made an effort to find out his name and anticipate his needs etc...I gave him a feedback form to fill in ( we have to give out 3 per flight ) and this is what he wrote....'Today i had a great flight I was in Economy but was treated like in business thanks to crew member Rebecca. She was always very helpful and prompt, and her dedication to good service made the flight extremely good for me. Thanks to Emirates and their choice of excellent staff' How good is that!!
So happy, it's great that our cabin crew manager will get a copy of it too :)
The service went well, enjoyed the flight back, exchanged numbers with Krysta. It's a shame that I didn't have a camera on this layover.
Air plane food is so addictive!! I ate about 5 meals on the way back!! I was chatted to some of the crew who told me that they'd put on over 5 kilos in their fist year of flying!! So, the next day after my layover I went to the gym, then went for a massive walk. All in all, I really enjoyed my first layover, wish I would have gone sightseeing but didn't have a camera and it was raining really heavily, I'm sure I'll get the opportunity to go again sometime :)
